Topilase treatment

What is Topilase?

Topilase® is a topical treatment for the correction of superficial hyaluronic acid dermal filler just under the skin.

It was developed to treat superficial filler placed in the lips and tear trough areas however has since been used successfully in other areas since then.

It contains a complex of enzymes:

  • Lipase
  • Protease
  • Hyaluronidase

Combined with the following natural essential oils known for their soothing, revitalising and repairing effects:

  • Aloe vera
  • Lavender
  • Hydrangea
  • Myrrh

Topilase comes in two separate parts the enzyme powder and an activation cream. Before treatment, your medical practitioner will mix the two parts.  They will then massage it firmly into the skin, and for best results, they may use a superficial microneedling technique.

Does Topilase Treatment Always Work?

Topilase works to break down hyaluronic acid, which is in the superficial layers of the skin.

Hyaluronic acid on its own has a very short half-life and does not last very long unless it is stabilised in some way. Different dermal fillers are created in different ways, by bonding the hyaluronic acid with itself or with other materials to create a stable longer lasting gel.

Topilase is more effecting in treating some fillers than others, depending on the manufacturing process.

Topliase will not help reduce superficial lumps due to other fillers or gels. Nor will it treat superficial lumps if the problem is caused by an alternative reaction and not just the gel itself.
